Can I use my running shoes for playing soccer?

It will be better if you do not. Running shoes do not contain cleats attached at the bottom part and hence are they are not able to provide you more grip and traction on grassy fields. (the type of field in which soccer is mostly played). Separate type of shoes (known as soccer shoes) are available that are most suitable for playing soccer. But, you can wear Running shoes during warm up session as it includes running.

What dress is best to wear with running shoe?

Running is an activity that requires wearing a proper running shoe and not a perfectly matching dress and shoe. You can wear shirts, T-Shirts or any attire. But, see to that you are comfortable in the attire you are wearing. In summer season, wear cotton clothes and in winter avoid wearing multiple layers of clothing or else your body will be covered fully with sweat and you won't be able to run properly.

I have purchased a new running shoe. What should I do to ensure that I do not develop blisters on wearing them?

Generally, if you are wearing a new running shoe, there are more chances of development of blisters. In order to avoid that, you need to "break in" your shoes. That is you should have a trial run with these shoes instead of wearing them directly for long distances. It will be best if at first you have walk with these shoes for a short distance. Try to buy a shoe whose size is a bit bigger than the size of your foot, wear socks along with the shoes and avoid buying extremely cheap shoes.

What should be the frequency of replacement of running shoes?

You can replace your shoes after using them for 6 months or after running 300 miles, whichever is earlier. Of course, there is no hard and fast rule that you should stick to the prescribed duration. You can replace your shoes earlier also if you notice that the soles are wearing out and the shoe is unable to provide you the requisite comfort and support.

What can I do to increase the lifespan of my running shoe?

Generally, running shoes have lesser life span. But, still you can increase their life span if you adopt a cautious approach. First of all, purchase two pairs of running shoes simultaneously and wear them on alternative days. This will definitely ease the pressure on a particular running shoe. The other aspect that you should take care of is regular cleaning of your shoes and never allowing dirt and dust to get accumulated in them. Do not keep your running shoes out of use for a long time. Both these factors play an important role in the purchase of a running shoe. While buying a running shoe, it is always wise to go for prominent brands as they possess almost all the features that are expected from a running shoe. Even there are some features that might be present in a particular brand alone.

As far as price is concerned, it can be said that it is prudent to go for medium priced running shoes. It is needless to invest a lot on running shoes as they are comparatively less durable and need to be replaced sooner or later irrespective of its price. Avoid purchase of extremely cheap shoes as they usually fail to provide the advantages that are sought from a running shoe. Also the longevity of such shoes is very low.
